Rachel “Naiah” Turetzky, PhD, CYT is a Postdoctoral Fellow at Brighter Life Therapy, PLLC. While trained and educated in traditional and contemporary types of psychotherapy, Dr. Turetzky also embraces non-traditional, creative, and experimental approaches to attaining states of well-being. It is with her open [and at times unconventional] attitude that she feels she can best serve individuals who may feel marginalized, stigmatized, socially isolated or different, difficulty finding meaning in one’s life [both individually and socially], or feel angst, frustrated, or lost in response to the uncertain state of the world.
Dr. Turetzky specializes in working with adults in individual therapy on issues such as trauma, stage-of-life transitions, depression, anxiety, creative blocks, addiction disorders, adjustment disorders, end-of-life anxiety, and psychedelic-assisted therapy/psychedelic integration (inquire about individual and/or group services if you feel this may benefit you). Her therapeutic approach is holistically balanced within both spirituality and scientific research.
Dr. Turetzky aims to create a healing space that feels nonjudgmental, safe, and supportive while personalizing a therapeutic experience that is specific to each client’s unique needs and goals. She offers an integrative approach to psychotherapy based in depth psychology to encourage an attitude of curiosity in helping her clients to freely and openly explore their psyches and identify patterns of thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and deeply rooted beliefs and conditionings that may be interfering with optimal functioning, quality of life, and living a truly authentic and passionate life.
Whether you struggle with feeling lost, broken, alone, or empty or just need some support, guidance, motivation, or sympathetic presence, it is with a genuine and compassionate curiosity and an unconditional acceptance that Dr. Turetzky welcomes you to your work together!
Education and Training Background: Dr. Turetzky completed her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Stony Brook University (Stony Brook, NY), her Master of Arts in Psychology from the New School for Social Research (New York, NY), and her PhD in Clinical Psychology with an Emphasis in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute (Carpinteria, CA).
In addition to her more traditional clinical training experiences (Alvarado Parkway Institute [La Mesa, CA] and Puget Sound Psychiatric Center [Bothell, WA]), Dr. Turetzky has additional training in ketamine-assisted therapy at Sage Institute (Oakland, CA), works as an Adherence Rater on an MDMA/PTSD study with the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS; Santa Cruz, CA), and has been offering psychedelic integration guidance through her private coaching practice.
Therapeutic Influences: 8-Circuit Model of Consciousness, Jungian/Depth, Archetypal, Transpersonal, Humanistic, Existential, Internal Family Systems (IFS).
