About Rich Williams

Rich Williams, Psy.D. is proud to be the first Clinical Psychology Postdoctoral Fellow at Brighter Life Therapy. As a clinician, he works with individuals, couples, and groups to help people live fuller, healthier, more connected lives. His approach to counseling is collaborative and curious. And he draws on several clinical approaches – including relational, psychodynamic, narrative, behavioral, and trauma-informed – to meet his clients’ needs.

Rich is a recent graduate of the University of Denver’s doctoral program in clinical psychology. During his training, he worked across a range of clinical settings, from major hospitals to community mental health.

He has experience treating depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar, substance abuse, traumatic brain injury, trauma both acute and historical and a host of other issues and concerns.

Rich specializes in working with people contending with career issues, including transitions and stressful professional environments. He especially enjoys his work with graduate students, business people, doctors, lawyers, artists, and musicians. He also has extensive experience working with a variety of personal and relational concerns, including marriage and family issues, sexual identity development, and self-esteem building.

Prior to pursuing a career in psychology, Rich worked in film and television as a writer and producer. He has an M.F.A. from Brown University and still consults on a number of narrative projects. He enjoys bringing insights and ideas from this creative field into his work in psychology
